We all can pick up a few non-travel books to read in July 2020.

The Best Non-Travel Books to Read in July 2020

It’s not the first time I’m sharing the non-travel books on my blog. In fact, I try to keep my reading lists as diverse as possible. While the travel books keep me entertained and inspire my desire to see the world, business and health related books bring value to different areas of my life. And if you want to dive deeper, I’ve never posted a monthly reading list consisting of only the travel books. I believe there should be a healthy balance between the travel and non-travel books one should read on a monthly basis. This month it’s all about the non-travel books.

THE BEST NON-TRAVEL BOOKS YOU WANT TO PICK UP THIS JULY:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Something, whether it’s a book or movie, that people can’t stop talking about has the opposite effect on me. I simply stay away from it. Maybe one day, when the initial excitement subsides, I’ll watch that movie or put my hands on those books. Maybe I’ll never do it.

Same happened with The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, one of my favorite non-travel books. The book has been famous for decades. And there’s a good reason why. It teaches its readers how to create better habits for their personal and professional lives. Reading some pages of this book, you’ll be appalled at the simplicity of these habits. Applying the principles from this non-travel book and seeing their results will astound you even more. So, just do yourself a favor and pick up this book to read right now.

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi

Paul Kalanithi, a successful neurosurgeon, was only 36 when he was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. One day he was a doctor, the next day he became a patient struggling to prolong his live and knowing that it was impossible. Paul was dreaming of writing a book one day, when he would have more time. Now was the only time he had left. And so, the surgeon told his story from the beginning until the end. Paul’s wife wrote the epilogue as he didn’t finish the book.

I had to hide to read When Breath Becomes Air, one of a few non-travel books written by surgeons I’ve ever read. I just didn’t want anybody to see me crying with this book in my hands. The book opens your eyes on things that matter, on things that are here and now, on things that make life worth living in the face of death.

The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder

Non-travel books - Roads and Destinations, roadsanddestinations.com

The first book from Kimberly’s Detox series, The Beauty Detox Solution tells you all about food and how it affects your look and well-being. There’s no such thing as bad or good food (although the author mentions a few products you should avoid at all costs), but rather an improper combination of them. As a spoiler, do not mix protein and starches if you want to feel energized and look better. And make sure to add more greens in your diet. In this case, more it definitely better.

And though The Beauty Detox Solutions falls into a category of the non-travel books, Kimberly learned these age-old beauty secrets only when traveling the world. So in reality, it’s hard to draw a line between the travel and non-travel books.
