4 HOLIDAY TRAVEL PERKS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
Holidays are the most anticipated and enjoyable times of the year to be at home and soak up all the festivity and to travel across the globe to see friends and family. On the flip side, it’s also the busiest time of the year.
Loud crowds, expensive airplane tickets and hotel rooms, the pressure of choosing perfect gifts can easily wear away your holiday spirit. If you choose to go places during the holiday season, be sure to take advantage of these travel perks.

1. Travel Freebies
The holiday season is the best time to hit the road and cross off your bucket list national parks that have been luring you for a while. On top of having extra time for traveling thanks to long weekends, some holidays grant you a privilege of entering national parks for free.
Whether it’s “Halloween Treat”, “Our Thank You to Veterans”, or “Christmas Trick” (as a part of Sequoia National Park‘s Christmas celebration), these little surprises make every holiday more special and appealing for traveling.
2. See Places in their Utmost Glory
Traveling during the holiday season not only quenches our desire to see new places, but also allows us to admire our dream destinations in their utmost glory, cleaned up and festively decorated. You can hardly find a city or region that doesn’t get glammed up before important religious or cultural celebrations and festivals.

3. Participate in Traditional Celebrations
Holidays without holiday traditions do not exist. When you travel during the holiday season, you are more likely to be invited to share the holiday spirit with locals. This is the time to try things you haven’t dreamed of doing such as dancing a traditional samba in Brazil, running with Santas during Santarun in Newtown, Wales, or experiencing a 15-day long celebration of Dashain in Nepal.

4. Try Your Luck
Give yourself permission to splurge a little bit when traveling during the holiday season. Get that lottery ticket or visit Las Vegas and try your luck at gambling. But don’t go overboard. A little fun never hurts, but becoming obsessed and losing control of your spending is the surest way to ruin your vacation and the entire holidays.

Thank you very much, Caroline!
I agree, you can see the famous hang out spots with beautiful decorations during Christmastime. Disneyland parks would look really festive this time around.

Definitely, Mercy! But it is super busy as well 🙂
I love the idea of participating in traditional celebrations all over the world! It’s so special to have the opportunity to be a part of that. And I also so agree that traveling during the holidays enhances the experience because so many places are decked out with lights and decorations! No need to filter THAT on instagram!
